When it comes to explosive detection, experience counts. Our explosive detection dogs and patrol teams have been utilized for static guard duty, explosive detection, and patrol work by the United States Army. We have done what most others only talk about. We have found more IED’s, explosives, and explosive devices with our dog teams than every law enforcement agency in the United States combined. Patriot K-9 has been credited by the U.S. Army with finding 15 TONS of explosives and numerous explosive devices in the most dangerous regions on earth.
Patriot teams are trained to exacting standards with techniques acquired from years of hands on experience. We train with actual explosives as opposed to pseudo-explosive scents as some facilities use today. Regardless of manufacturer’s claims, pseudo-scents do not smell the same to dogs as the real thing. The majority of dogs trained on actual explosives and certified as accurate will not give a positive indication when encountering pseudo scents. On the flip side, dogs trained on pseudo-scents may become overwhelmed at the abundance of scent when encountering a significant quantity of actual explosives as you would find in the construction of an actual IED.
Our explosive detection dogs have performed their mission time and again in the life threatening environments of both Iraq and Afghanistan. We are the original training facility that sent bomb dogs to the Empire State Building, the New York Stock Exchange, and other venues just days after 9/11. We are not one of the numerous "me too" companies that have popped up since then.
